Nike’s Second LeBron 13 Colorway Drops Friday

The regular season starts Tuesday for LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers, but the upcoming colorway of his latest Nike signature shoe, the LeBron 13, won’t make its debut in retail stores until his first home game of the season.

The LeBron 13 On Court colorway will hit stores Friday with a retail price of $200.

The shoe — inspired by the colors James likes to wear on the court, according to Nike — features a predominantly university red upper, with black surrounding the swoosh branding on the toe cap, tongue, lining and heel. The shoe also features a predominantly white-with-gray-speckles midsole with black at its center and an icy translucent outsole.

The LeBron 13 boasts a mesh upper with Flywire cables, the brand’s Hyperposite material on the midfoot and hexagonal Zoom Air units for cushioning at key pressure points.

The first colorway of the shoe, Written in the Stars, was released on Oct. 10. That shoe features a mulberry and vivid purple upper with white speckled midsole and icy translucent outsole.

James and the Cavaliers start the season on the road, taking on Eastern Conference rival the Chicago Bulls. Cleveland has its home opener this Friday, hosting the squad James won a pair of championship rings with before returning to the Cavaliers — the Miami Heat.
