Patriotic Sneakers Ready for Independence Day

With July 4 around the corner, people are busting out their red, white and blue and stars-and-stripes apparel for the holiday. But the highlight of the outfit, of course, is the patriotic footwear.

Brands such as Converse, Nike, New Balance, Brooks and more have created silhouettes inspired by the holiday, giving sneaker enthusiasts a plethora of options to choose from. The brands transformed their most popular styles and classic models into footwear that undoubtedly celebrates this country.

The iconic Chuck Taylor by Converse, originally released in 1917 under the name All-Star, received a makeover for the holiday titled the Stars and Bars. If you’re looking to wear something legendary customized for July 4, the shoe retails for $60.

Brooks also has a classic release with a patriotic feel, going into its vault to give the Vanguard silhouette a red, white and blue makeover. The shoe is available now via the brand’s website for $55, originally retailing for $85.

New Balance also has a vintage silhouette updated with the help of retailer Concepts. The retailer used fireworks packaging for its limited release of the NB 575, named the M80, which features red and blue suede paneling with a washed denim look. This release retails for $160.

Even Nike went into the vault for a popular, classic silhouette. The Air Force 1 Low received a July 4 facelift, with studded stars taking over the toecap. The shoes are available in an all white and an all blue colorway with a $100 price tag.

But not all sneakers ready for the holiday are classic silhouettes. Nike used its latest signature basketball shoes for LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving for the 4th of July collection, ranging in price form $110-200.
