Snoop Dogg Teams With Adidas for New Football Cleat and Trainer Release

Rap star Snoop Dogg has been a pitchman for a plethora of products, from clothing to Chrysler automobiles, even having his voice displayed on a TomTom GPS Navigator. Today, Adidas and the California-based rapper unveiled a football cleat and trainer set to hit stores next month.

The Snoop Dogg Adizero 5-Star 4.0 Uncaged Cleat and Gameday Trainer will be available on the Adidas website and Eastbay on June 1.

The cleat – inspired by the video for Snoop’s debut single from 1993, “Who Am I? (What’s My Name?)” – features the brand’s SprintSkin upper to keep the shoe light, ShockWeb for compression around the foot, and a 5-Star frame built with a light, reinforced top plate made for strength and traction.

The front of the cleat features the image of a Doberman – the dog the rapper transformed into in the aforementioned music video. The trainer features an all black version of the same image on the heel of the shoe.

For the cleat and trainer’s release, the rap star released a song dedicated to the release, “Snoop Dogg Uncaged.” The song is available for download on SoundCloud and the Adidas football website.

The California-based rapper has a well-documented love for football. Aside from his affinity for the University of Southern California football team, he started the Snoop Youth Football League in Los Angeles more than 10 years ago.
