Stephen Curry Helps Warriors Tie NBA Record For Best Start To Season

Last season, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry had a breakout year, shattering shooting records, winning NBA MVP honors and leading his team to a title. This season, Curry is at the helm of the NBA-record-tying 15-0 Warriors squad that has the chance to set a league record Tuesday with the best start in NBA history.

The Under Armour-sponsored athlete will try to lead his Golden State team to a 16-0 record tomorrow night at home against the Los Angeles Lakers. Its 15-0 start is tied for the longest unbeaten streak to start a season, matching what the 1948-49 Washington Capitols and the 1993-94 Houston Rockets did before.

Curry, wearing a white, blue and taxi-yellow player’s edition colorway of his latest Under Armour signature shoe, the Curry Two, scored 19 points on 8 of 16 shooting Sunday night against the Denver Nuggets (led by fellow Under Armour-sponsored guard Emmanuel Mudiay). The three-point threat went 3 of 8 from long distance.

Nike-sponsored Kobe Bryant will try to lead his Lakers past the Warriors on Tuesday and break the team’s wining streak. Los Angeles has the worst record in the Western Conference, starting the season 2-11, beating only the Brooklyn Nets and the Detroit Pistons.

Under Armour has released five colorways of its Curry Two shoe so far this season: Iron Sharpens Iron, Dub Nation, Father to Son, Floor General and The Professional. The next two colorways, named Long Shot and Providence Road, are scheduled for a Nov. 25 release.
