Tony Ferguson’s Rone Luxury Shoe Line To Launch In August

Rone, the skate-inspired luxury footwear brand from renowned professional skateboarder Tony Ferguson, is ready to make its debut next month.

Ferguson, who has experience as the Creative Director for Alife, is an original member of the Girl Skateboard Team and helped start the Girl Skateboards Company with famed cinematographer Spike Jonze, confirmed with Footwear News that shoes will hit stores on Aug. 22.

The brand will release shoes that are handmade and draw inspiration from classic skate silhouettes, but designed with luxury in mind. The first collection will feature shoes utilizing tanned Italian leathers and Goodyear welt construction. The high-top Eighty Six and the low-top Ninety Three are the first two shoes of the line and the pay homage to the year he began skateboarding and the year he teamed up with Jonze for the Girl Skateboards Company, respectively.

Although the shoes appeal to the luxury enthusiast, some silhouettes also incorporate technology akin to the outdoor world, specifically Vibram outsoles.
