Synclaire Brands Signs Sam Edelman Kids’ License

Sam Edelman’s kids’ line has a new home.

The label has tapped New York–based Synclaire Brands as its new children’s shoe licensee, beginning with the spring ’16 season. BBC International previously held the license since 2012.

Under Synclaire, the collection will continue its focus on playful, fashion-forward looks for girls, inspired by Sam Edelman’s women’s line. There will be a strong focus on takedowns.

“The kids’ collection features such iconic Sam Edelman styles as the Petty boot and Gigi sandal, with touches of tribal detailing and fun floral prints,” said Libby Edelman, SVP of Sam Edelman, a division of St. Louis-based Caleres.

Evan Cagner, president of Synclaire, said his firm is excited to add Sam Edelman to its stable of kids’ licenses, which include Stuart Weitzman, Michael Kors, Ivanka Trump and Tommy Hilfiger.  “We are thrilled to be working with [designer] Sam Edelman and his iconic brand. The DNA of the brand will resonate very strongly in the kids’ market, with the collection always being fun, fresh and trend-right,” Cagner noted.
