Uri Minkoff Previews Spring ’16 Accessory Collection

Uri Minkoff debuted his namesake collection of accessories on Monday in New York City, with an interesting story behind the rebranding for the season.

“The collection is about awakening. It was inspired by an adventurer’s descent down a mountain after a long trek where he is witness to the transformation of winter to spring. It’s the darkness of winter reborn, as the warm light of spring,” Minkoff told FN. “The theme informs the palette; black and winter whites open into the blue of water as the ice melts, the brown of the earth as it is revealed and the green of leaves as the world awakens.”

The line is being rebranded from its former Ben Minkoff name and roots. Some key shoe styles included slip-ons with perforated details.

“My favorite part of the event was celebrating the debut of my new collection with friends and supporters like Michael [Atmore] from FN and Ken Downing who pushed me to launch Uri Minkoff,” said the designer, and brother of Rebecca Minkoff.
