Cesare Casadei Reveals His Fall Design Inspiration

Disco is back in a big way this fall. “Constructions like the platform and disco influences are very important,” Cesare Casadei said about the fall ’15 offering from his namesake Casadei label.

To capture the real soul of the era, the designer turned to two different decades — the 1960s and the ’70s — when crafting the line. “To start, I looked at the sophisticated geometric cuts of the 1960s,” he said, noting that two colors will also be hot for the season. “I call it the perfect red, like a very important Italian wine, plus sensual greens.” But a classic hue still has a place in his collection. “Black is an all-the-time color.”

To give the silhouettes a finished look, Casadei used leather suede and calf materials. And his quintessential Blade heel remains a strong component. “I continue to be in love with shoes, especially the Blade,” said the designer.
