A Behind-The-Scenes Look At The Making Of The Curry Two

With Stephen Curry‘s much-anticipated release of his second signature shoe with Under Armour just days away, Champs Sports has released an exclusive behind-the-scenes video showing the Curry Two design and inspiration for the model’s first colorway, Iron Sharpens Iron. Champs was able to meet up with the designers of the Under Armour Curry Two in Portland, Ore., as part of the retailer’s “The Drop” blog series.

Curry’s sneaker sequel is set to launch on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Before the release, Champs caught up with the Golden State Warrior MVP himself, along with Rashad Williams, the head of men’s basketball at Under Armour, and Todd Luedecke, the brand’s manager of innovation, at Under Armour’s new innovation lab.

When designing a shoe, Luedecke says, it starts with the athlete. The team analyzes basketball footage of Curry, dissecting his movements to help create a shoe design specific to Curry’s needs. “By far the most exciting product to work on is the MVP’s next product,” said Luedecke. “That’s what you live for in this industry.”
