Converse Debuts Second Andy Warhol Collection

Converse always had a big fan in pop artist Andy Warhol, and the sneaker is celebrating the artist with an all-new collection.

The new Warhol collection finds inspiration in the artist’s “Banana” silk screened paintings, as well as a few other iconic works of his pop art.

The “Banana” print icon is featured on a high top and low top Chuck Taylor All Star style, and the lining of the shoe also includes black and white stripes. The low top turns the famous image into a print.

Warhol’s famous self portraits and dollar sign paintings are among the other prints featured in the collection. The line will retail for $35-90.

It’s the second collection for Warhol and Converse. Earlier this year the sneaker brand announced a series of styles inspired by the tomato soup can paintings made by the artist, which were a big hit with Converse fans.

Warhol was often spotted in Converse Chucks, and the artist’s own pair served as inspiration for this year’s campaign, featuring pairs of Chucks owned by famous fans of the brand.
