Michelle Obama Wears Jimmy Choo To Greet Pope Francis In Washington, D.C.

Michelle Obama wore elegant Jimmy Choo Aza metallic pumps to welcome Pope Francis to the U.S. yesterday, donning the style again — this time in a midnight-blue hue — for a papal event at the White House this morning.

The First Lady paired Choo’s kitten heels with a short-sleeve, blue-belted Carolina Herrera dress on Tuesday, when she and President Obama, along with daughters Malia and Sasha, greeted the pontiff when he landed in Washington, D.C.

On Wednesday, Pope Francis gave a morning speech on the White House’s South Lawn. For that event, Michelle chose a midnight-blue dress with a lace bodice and flared skirt, a fitting choice for the first day of fall. Her Jimmy Choos, which matched the Monique Lhuillier frock, were on full display when she joined the crowd for the pope’s address.

The First Lady has often been spotted in Jimmy Choo, particularly during high-profile events like the President’s inauguration and her trips abroad to meet global leaders.

This summer, she wore the British brand’s Mei pumps during several engagements, first to meet Prince Harry at Kensington Palace, then for a “Let Girls Learn” event and finally during a visit with Prime Minister David Cameron at 10 Downing Street.

During a trip to India earlier in the year, Michelle Obama was spotted in not one, or two, but five Jimmy Choo styles — from the brand’s Aza pump to the metallic Attila flat and the Esther boot.
