Designer Rachel Roy’s daughter, Ava Dash, has collaborated with Ugg and The Teen Project to help redecorate foster-care spaces for eight women. Ugg, along with Echo, Tempaper, Handy.com and Z Gallerie, donated products for the effort.
The Teen Project provides resources and support to teens as they transition to adulthood from the foster-care system.
Fifteen-year-old Dash told Footwear News that her mother inspired her to get involved. She said that everywhere she travels with Roy, her mom takes time to work with women and help build opportunities for them.
“When I learned about The Teen Project, I was really touched by the fact that so many people my age are not exposed to all of the things I have been through my mom,” says Dash. “A lot of people don’t even have the comfort of a home and family as a foundation.”

Dash says she wanted to use her love of design, decorating and fashion to create a cozy environment for the women. Ugg provided hundreds of boots for the young men and women taking part in The Teen Project.
“I was so thrilled to be able to connect with Ugg because I have been obsessed with their Classic boots since I was young,” says Dash. “The Teen Project girls were equally excited when they received theirs.”
Dash also enlisted a few of her friends to help out, including Disney star Peyton List and “Teen Wolf” actor Cody Saintgnue.
