The Craziest Runway Shoes From Paris Fashion Week Spring 2016

Will the madness end? Though Milan proved to be the most daring city this season — a title that usually goes to London — a number of crazy, outlandish shoes made their way onto the Paris runways for spring ’16.

Luxury labels embraced bold motifs in their footwear collections, from architectural shapes to rainbow colorways.

Maison Margiela went for high-impact shapes this season. Pointy pumps had curved kitten heels and buckled ankle straps, which were made of braided leather with a white, crackled-paint finish.

Miu Miu had platform kinky boots, finished with a chunky heel and aggressive football lacing up the shaft. Zigzag patterns in oddball color combos were paired with python.

Iris Van Herpen had cut-out booties suspended above the platform sole on a piece of plastic, making it look like they were floating down the runway.
