The Top 20 Shoes From Paris Fashion Week Spring 2016

With Paris Fashion Week officially wrapped, it’s time to rank the most standout shoes. Following FN’s Top 20 Shoes From Milan, where Gucci nabbed the prime No. 1 spot, we’ve ranked the top 20 footwear styles from the Paris runways — from kinky boots to light-up sandals.

Miu Miu had unmatched fun with its shoe collection this season, nabbing our first prize. Miuccia Prada delivered an all-star lineup of zigzag kinky boots and deranged ballet flats that were madcap-meets-must-have, ending the season on a high note.

Coming in at a close second, Karl Lagerfeld’s airport-inspired Chanel collection included a comfy travel sandal with light-up nailhead details fit for emergency exits. “Complimentary peanuts or quilted bag?”

Wellies at Saint Laurent? You bet. Maison Lesage Atelier embroidery elevated the humble English countryside Wellie to a new level of festival couture, leading the label to land our No. 3 ranking. They were the most-talked-about boots of the season.

Other standouts included Dries Van Noten. Psychedelic prints and distorted paisleys decorated both curved-heel sandals and mix-and-clash hosiery for an original take on accessorizing. Valentino’s tri-strap flat sandals stood out in geometric prints — a style inspired by traditional African tribal motifs, but not too blatantly so.

While a bevy of options were sent down Nicholas Ghesquiere’s Louis Vuitton runway, some felt derivative this season. Whipstitched loafers, however, were more sure-footed.
