Dolce & Gabbana Go Luxe With Mommy-And-Me Shoes

The Dolce & Gabbana fall/winter ’15 runway show was family-friendly.

Continuing its theme of celebrating generations of women, the fashion house honored mothers by sending models down the runway toting babies and toddlers — while wearing super-high heels.

Besides models on the runway with children and one pregnant model, the show highlighted the theme of motherhood with “Mama” emblazoned on the clothes as well as depictions of the Virgin Mary. In a few of the looks, Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce turned clothes into the luxe version of wearing clothes designed by your kids, with scrawls and scribbles making houses and stick people.

The house made headlines earlier this year when it featured elderly women in its ads, leading the way for the likes of Celine and Saint Laurent to follow with their own interpretations of age and wisdom in fashion.

Another highlight of the show was the darling coordinated outfits — a much chic-er version of the mom + me trend, featuring matching pink floral sheath dresses (with sweet Mary Janes for the little girls and floral heels for the moms) and coordinating lace jumpers and dresses.

We imagine that matching floral heels wouldn’t just be mom favorites (they were yesterday’s Shoe of the Day) but also a playful match for the chic little feet.
