Dolce & Gabbana certainly doesn’t need to declare its adoration of its home and native land, but as consummate cheerleaders for all things Italy, the latest spring ’16 collection was titled “Love Italia.”
Considering that Italy is the shoe epicentre of the world, footwear was given top priority. And all the stops were pulled out.
Sciura (Milanese masters of the art of homemaking) house slippers came set with a smattering of jewels. Ankle strap satin pumps had fur Pom Pom details and packed with southern Italian saucy. The Capri sandal came decked with over-the-top embellishment from roping to charm beading.
The most charming styles came with artful arrangements of Girasole blooms, that typical Italian summer flower. La dolce vita, indeed.
