Jeremy Scott Spring 2016: New York Fashion Week

Today Jeremy Scott presented his spring ’16 collection, which looked like a blast from groovy 1960s past with modern updates. Scott’s show was livestreamed on NYFW.com and Periscope. For two styles of shoes, Scott collaborated with Brazilian shoe brand Melissa.

Printed mini-dresses, A-line-skirts and crop tops and bikinis for women were paired with mod plastic ankle booties in bright blue, polka dots, a psychedelic patterns.

Melissa is behind the solid colored booties and the peep-toe mule style that was offered in a handful of colors including red, yellow and bubble gum pink.

Last week, Scott expressed in a statement his excitement about working with Melissa.

“I’m a fan of the fun that they put into footwear and I’m honored to be included in the long line of great fashion designers that they have collaborated with over the past 44 years,” said Scott. “It’s been a joy to watch my ideas become translated by their expert team and to be able to bring to life designs that are not only high fashion, but affordable too.”

Melissa’s U.S. CEO Michele Levy tells Footwear News that the brand is honored to have been able to collaborate with Scott.

“It is exciting to produce a collection with such a hard working designer that has his finger on the pulse of everything from the arts to fashion, music and culture,” she said.

The two Melissa x Jeremy Scott styles will be available starting Sept. 15 in Melissa “Galeria” stores and will become available at high-end retailers including 10 Corso Como in Milan, Alchemist in Miami and Colette in Paris.
