Rochas Spring 2016 Shoe Highlights: Paris Fashion Week

Creative Director Alessandro Dell’Acqua inherited a kind of eccentric footwear roll-call when he took on the design post at Rochas.

It helps the small house drum up buzz and press during the shows and also is in line with the madcap-cool shoes he designs for his own label, No. 21.

Today he showed that he can also do dainty. Lace kitten heels and slingbacks completed every gauzy look, an unlikely choice given the voluminous proportions.

The ’50s low heel shape was completely covered, last to upper, in pastel and boudoir shades of chantilly lace. You’d think adding a bow to the pointed toe would cause a tooth ache here, but Dell’Acqua’s were so oversize and fluttery that the overall effect maintained that element of oddball.
