Nike Invites Women To 2016 Victory Tour Running And Training Events

Nike will kick off its annual women’s race series next month in Nagoya, Japan.

With several global events planned, the company is hoping its targeted running and training events will continue to appeal to even more women this year.

The Beaverton, Ore.-based business said more than 200,000 women participated in its 2015 event series — either running a half marathon, 10K or some form of a training club challenge.

According to the company, the goal of the NikeWomen Victory Tour is for “athletes of all levels to challenge themselves and experience the power of the global fitness community via a series of one-of-a-kind running and training events.”

The event tour kicks off March 13, and runs through September with events in cities as varied as Rio de Janeiro, Athens, Seoul and Shanghai. The tour will also host an event in Los Angeles, where legendary runner Joan Benoit Samuelson won the gold medal in 1984.
