Luxury Italian Shoe Line Baldinini Stakes New Claim in U.S. Market

Luxury Italian footwear and accessories brand Baldinini is staking a claim in the U.S. market. The company will be unveiling its first store in the States on Tuesday, in The Mall at Short Hills in Short Hills, N.J. The company has been selling its collection of men’s and women’s shoes and accessories in the U.S. for the past five years via its e-commerce site.

The 1,515-sq.-ft. boutique in New Jersey joins Baldinini’s network of 120 stores around the world and features men’s and women’s styles as well as the Gimmi Baldinini line of footwear and accessories. The contemporary store design allows for the product to take center stage, blending a color palette of beige, cream and chocolate.

The Mall at Short Hills counts a wide range of designers among its tenants; it is a short car ride from Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, N.J., and a popular destination for international travelers who often shop in between flights. “Our investment is part of a retail expansion plan to be carried through 2017, particularly in paramount international shopping locations,” said CEO Gimmi Baldinini. “In so doing, we will solidify our position worldwide.”

The initiative is part of a retail development plan in the American market, where the company currently does 5 percent of its sales via its e-commerce site. Plans through 2017 include further retail expansion, with additional locations in Florida and New York.
