Gucci buzz has arrived in a big way at Saks Fifth Avenue. At a special shopping event hosted Tuesday, Saks unveiled the newest Gucci concept shop-in-shop at its Fifth Avenue flagship location in its famous 10022-Shoe floor.
The shop is the first in the U.S. to feature a design and creative input from Gucci’s star designer Alessandro Michele. In a luxe romantic-meets-industrial environment with sleek, riveted silver shelves, oriental rugs and velvet chairs, the shoes certainly stand out. Among the highlights on shelves from the spring collection? The standout mules, loafers and gladiator-esque ballet flats.
For the unveiling, Saks, Gucci, Caryn Zucker and Eleanor Ylvisaker hosted a few shoppers in the store with 10 percent of the profits benefitting The Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
