Retro Jordans Out, London Fashion Week Starts, Emmy Awards Are On Sunday

Here’s what you need to know about shoes for the week of Sept. 12-18.

NYFW Wraps

Just four days of New York Fashion Week madness are left. Marc Jacobs wraps NYFW a bit earlier than usual with a show at 2 p.m. ET on Thursday at the Hammerstein Ballroom in midtown Manhattan. Super sneaker store Kith hosts its Kithland fashion event Tuesday, and Ralph Lauren presents his show Wednesday evening.

Nike Top Releases 

Nike is set to release the anticipated Air Jordan 4 Retro Premium Navy/White sneaker on Saturday. It’s already reselling for as much as $700. Adidas has several NMDs landing over the weekend, including the Solor Red and Core Black colors and the Adidas NMD_XR1 Core Black. All hit stores on Saturday.

London Fashion Week

Fashion attention heads across the pond this week on Friday with the kickoff of London Fashion Week. Immediately following the shows on Sept. 22, the British Fashion Council will help sponsor the annual London Fashion Weekend, a consumer-facing event for shoppers.

Under Armour Unveils New Sportswear Line

On Thursday, Under Armour unveils a new collection designed by Tim Coppens. The UA Sportswear collection will debut at New York Fashion Week and is the brand’s answer to an increased desire for clothing that doubles as sportswear and fashion.

Primetime Emmy Awards 

Television’s big night is Sunday with the Primetime Emmy Awards. The annual event‘s host this year is Jimmy Kimmel, and the festivities begin at 7 p.m. ET on ABC.

Sole Commerce Trade Show on Sunday

Contemporary show Sole Commerce and Coterie starts Sunday and runs through Sept. 20 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York.
