Gwen Stefani’s Top 20 Shoe Moments In Honor Of Album Hitting Number One

Gwen Stefani is currently riding high with her latest album, “This Is What the Truth Feels Like,” which has hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

She has happily been sharing her surprise at its success on Twitter.

It’s a good moment for the longtime fashion plate and pop star, who has seen her love life and role as guest judge on “The Voice” dominate the conversation lately.

But while relationships in Hollywood are frighteningly fleeting, no matter how solid they appear from the outside, Stefani’s strong, expressive, ever-evolving personal style endures. With that in mind, we take a look at some of her most iconic and just plain cool fashion moments, from the ’90s No Doubt heyday through to now.

While Stefani’s heart currently belongs to fellow “Voice” judge and country crooner Blake Shelton, she’s always had a thing for offbeat, statement shoe choices. These days she is often spotted wearing zippy heels from her own label GX by Gwen Stefani when not in towering pumps from Christian Louboutin or quirky sneaker wedges, her other go-to shoes.

She also appreciates a bold pop of red to match her signature lipstick, with DSquared2‘s drawstring boots a favorite. Stefani has worn them multiple times, usually paired with cropped distressed denim, also from the label.

What has been most striking about her look over the years is her ability to switch up her style and experiment while always remaining resolutely herself. Case in point: Stefani gives the uber-classic Gucci horsebit loafer a new spin in sunny yellow, worn with clashing stripes and her trusty jeans.

In a day and age when artists dominating the pop chart often have a look that has clearly been manufactured to the very last nuance by a record label-appointed glam squad, Stefani’s style has been more organically cultivated to reflect her various influences, from Orange County ska culture to Harajuku girls, silver screen icons and Rastafarian references.

While her recent hit single may be called “Used to Love You” (a reference to her soon-to-be-ex husband Gavin Rosedale), Stefani can always be counted on for forward style strides.
