Supermodel Heidi Klum is making a case for platform sandals as the ideal summer shoe.
At first glance, it might not seem like a five-inch heel is practical for walking around New York City in the midsummer heat. But Klum’s favorite Saint Laurent Candy 80 platforms are balanced by a nearly two-inch platform, making them surprisingly comfortable to walk in.
The star has opted for the sandals — in both black and beige — for running errands around New York, appearances and even at Wimbledon in London.
The sandals are offered in a range of colors and in suede and leather for $895.
Klum is also a fan of Saint Laurent’s leather sneakers.
In addition to Saint Laurent, she has a few other platform favorites. She’s been spotted lately wearing pairs by Lanvin and Valentino.
