In a twist of fashion fate, Kate Middleton and Drew Barrymore wore the same dress on the same night. Both women donned the same bright embroidered tulle Tory Burch dress Thursday evening.
Middleton, who is visiting India and Bhutan with Prince William, wore the gown hours ahead of Barrymore for a private dinner with the King and Queen of Bhutan. In New York, Barrymore stepped out in the same dress for the ASPCA’s Bergh Ball, where she was honored with a humanitarian award.
So who hit a style high note when it came to accessorizing?
Middleton paired her dress with a red shawl and Gianvito Rossi Sisley strappy black sandals. Barrymore went with Christian Louboutin beige peep-toe pumps.

We think we’ll have to give Middleton the win in this shoe-down. Middleton chose to keep her shoes in the same palette as the dress, allowing the bright colors of the frock to shine. Barrymore’s shoes — while a great neutral option — were a bit too clunky for the look.
