Royal Flashback: Kate Middleton’s Alexander McQueen Wedding Shoes

It’s been five years since Kate Middleton and Prince William‘s wedding in London, and now the world is looking back at the couple’s big day. Of course, no one could forget the royal bride’s custom Alexander McQueen dress designed by Sarah Burton — or her shoes, also a Burton creation.

According to the Royal website, the shoes were made of ivory duchesse satin with lace hand-embroidered by the Royal School of Needlework.

With the world watching, Middleton walked down the aisle at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011.

Just this week, Middleton’s famous dress was back in the spotlight after bridal designer Christine Kendall sued the British fashion house for breach of copyright with a claim filed at the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court in London. (Burton, McQueen and Kensington Palace all denied that they had ever seen the designer’s sketches.)

For her part, the queen wore ivory pumps with bow embellishments to complement her elegant yellow frock. She completed the look with pearls and a diamond eye-catching brooch.

The whole royal family will mark the big anniversary tomorrow, but Kate and William already acknowledged their big milestone during a recent trip to India and Bhutan. In a much-buzzed-about moment, they visited the Taj Mahal on the last day.
