Lady Gaga Makes a Statement With Her Outfit Following Election Results

Lady Gaga made no secret of her support for Hillary Clinton leading up to the presidential election on Tuesday.

Like some of Clinton’s other celebrity supporters, including Katy Perry, Lena Dunham, Amy Schumer and America Ferrera, Gaga shared her disappointment after Clinton lost to Donald Trump.

Gaga even went to Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan early Wednesday morning to protest following his win. In addition, she has been using her clothing to make a statement. She was spotted leaving her New York apartment earlier this week wearing a “Love Trumps Hate” T-shirt. On Thursday, she gave a nod to another one of her inspirations: the late musician Prince.

She stepped out in a “Purple Rain in My Brain” T-shirt, referencing Prince’s hit song “Purple Rain.” Perhaps Gaga is turning to her favorite music for inspiration following Clinton’s loss. She paired the shirt with sweatpants with grommet detail and black lace-up boots. She also wore the boots last week at an airport in Tokyo, following a trip there to promote her new album, “Joanne.”

In true Gaga form, she wore a dramatic dress that paid homage to the suffrage movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
