She lives for the applause — not the jeers. But that didn’t stop Lady Gaga’s fans from sounding off on some of their least favorites shoe styles the pop star has rocked over the years.
The debate was stirred on the musician’s fan website Gagadaily.com, where users contributed images and biting commentary for nearly a week in the “Ugliest Gaga Shoes?” forum topic.
Commenters overwhelmingly took issue with the Alexander McQueen tan armadillo boots she wore to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards; it was one of many avant-garde ensembles she donned that evening — including that meat dress. “These have got to be the most hideous shoes Gaga (or any person in history) has worn,” a user captioned the photo. Gaga was such a fan of the shoes that she wore a similar style in green last year while on an outing in New York City.
No matter how divided the opinions are, one fan summarized the discussion fittingly: “Forget the hate, isn’t it wonderful she’s so diverse in her fashion we can all find something to dislike and love?”

Below, read what her fans had to say about some of her other striking looks.
On her shoes with masks, as seen in Berlin in 2014: “They don’t even look like shoes, which bothers me. It’s like she stuck her feet into Halloween decorations.”
On her heelless silhouette: “When she has the heelless heels on, but she isn’t standing on her toes … if you know what I mean, it looks weird.”
On her towering Pleaser platform style: “I’ve hated these shoes since 2010 when she started wearing them. They’re ugly. They’re tacky. They’re unflattering. They look like someone who’s making a parody of lady Gaga would wear. Burn. Them.”
On her L.A. Gear sneakers: “On their own they’re fine, but at a concert tour of Lady Gaga, I don’t think so.”
On her meat shoes: “Before you say anything, if something is iconic, doesn’t mean it can’t be ugly af.”
On her tentacle platforms: “Always hated these.”
