Lupita Nyong’o scored another red carpet win Sept. 20 at the premiere of “Queen of Katwe” in a lavender gown by Elie Saab and a surprising shoe choice from Neil J. Rodgers.
The emerging label’s Stella sandal is one of the most popular Neil J. Rodgers styles and has been spotted on stars such as Daisy Ridley and Maria Sharapova. Nyong’o paired the look with the purple Grecian gown and a full headscarf for a major red-carpet moment.
Nyong’o is famous for finding new designers to try on the red carpet. In 2014, Nyong’o and her stylist Micaela Erlanger found then-unknown designer Paul Andrew and wore his Zenadia pumps with her custom red gown at the Golden Globes. Overnight, Andrew and Nyong’o had headlines for the standout moment on the red carpet.
Also on the “Katwe” red carpet on Sept. 20 was co-star David Oyelowo rocking patent, tasseled slip-ons.
