Miranda Lambert’s Unconventional Approach To Tour Fashion

Glittered costumes, dance choreography and special effects are things you won’t see at Miranda Lambert‘s Keeper of the Flame Tour this summer.

The country star stays true to her roots as she sings center stage toting her guitar. The “Vice” crooner brings a sense of realness to her show by avoiding costumes and quick changes.

“She’s such an authentic artist, and I think that’s reflective in a lot of what she does on tour with her wardrobe,” said stylist Tiffany Gifford, who has been working with Lambert for more than six years. “It would be silly to have her in costume because it doesn’t match the music.”

Gifford says she and the singer do fittings before touring begins, and Lambert dresses herself while on the road, wearing suede skirts and vintage cowboy boots inspired by the ’70s.

“A lot of the clothing you see onstage translates to her real life,” Gifford added. “We mix high and low because that’s her lifestyle. Her favorite jeans in the world are from American Eagle, but at the same time she has Balmain body suits for tour.”

Lambert can be seen onstage wearing items from Nasty Gal and cowboy boots from her eponymous shoe line. She is also a fan of vintage Zodiac boots.

“They give her height onstage, but she still stays comfortable,” Gifford said. “For her, functionality and comfort is paramount. Ultimately my goal for her is to be able to focus on the music because that’s what is most important to her.”

Lambert is simultaneously performing as an opener for Kenny Chesney’s Spread the Love show circuit.
