Pharrell Williams has been turning heads with his unique style for years. In 2010, for example, he arrived on the red carpet at the NRJ Music Awards in Cannes, France, wearing printed Nike snowboard boots from the brand’s collaboration with snowboarder Danny Kass and artist Arbito. At this year’s Grammy Awards, he went with bright green Adidas NMD sneakers printed with the phrase “Human Race.”
Needless to say, Pharrell’s shoe style is never ordinary. He’s often seen wearing Adidas sneakers or Timberland six-inch boots in customized colors with hand-painted designs on them. Plus, he knows how to make his favorite styles work for high fashion, too, wearing his Timberland mono gray boots to the Chanel fall ’16 runway show in Paris in March.

Pharrell is no stranger to shoe design, either. He’s worked with Timberland on his Bee Line x Timberland line, which FN named its “Collaboration of the Year” at the 2015 FN Achievement Awards in December. He’s also put out multiple collections with Adidas, including the Adidas Superstar Supercolor collection that reimagined the Superstar sneaker in 50 bright mono colorways.
As Pharrell turns 43 today, we’re looking back a some of his coolest shoe moments.
