Is Former U.K. First Lady Samantha Cameron Launching a Shoe Line?

Britain’s former first lady Samantha Cameron has set up a new company in the U.K., Samantha Cameron Studio Ltd., according to paperwork filed at Companies House, the official registry of U.K. businesses.

The new company is registered in North Lincolnshire, where Cameron grew up, as a nontrading, private limited company. Also, according to the Companies House filing, which is dated Oct. 4, Cameron is the sole director of the new company and holds at least 75 percent of the shares.

The company will be launched under a different name once it starts trading.

Cameron is known for her support of the British fashion industry with favorite designers including Preen, Roksanda Illincic and Peter Pilotto.

The moment David Cameron announced his resignation in June following the Brexit referendum, there was immediate speculation about the potential business ventures Samantha Cameron would pursue.

According to British media reports, Cameron is said to be planning to launch her own clothing label alongside stylist, creative consultant, and her longtime deputy at 10 Downing Street, Isabel Spearman.

Spearman was named Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire as part of David Cameron’s resignation honors list, which recognizes services to prime minister.

Samantha Cameron remains creative consultant to the British luxury stationer and leather goods brand Smythson, and had done so throughout her husband’s tenure as prime minister.

Cameron could not be immediately be reached for comment.
