Taylor Swift is set to take center stage at the Met Gala, celebrating the opening of the Costume Institute’s “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” exhibit.
Swift is co-chairing the gala in New York on Monday, along with actor Idris Elba, Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, and Apple chief design officer Jonathan Ive. Guests at the gala often incorporate the theme of the Costume Institute into their outfits, and we have a feeling Swift could wear a daring, futuristic ensemble.
The 26-year-old has been making bolder fashion and beauty choices lately — for the Coachella music festival earlier this month, she debuted a new bleached-blonde look, and at the Grammy Awards in February, she wore a revealing Versace crop top and skirt ensemble. This is a far cry from the Swift who attended the Met Gala for the first time in 2008, her signature ringlets intact. That year she wore a pretty, albeit safe, gold Badgley Mischka gown and shoes.

In 2010, Swift embraced the theme of “American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity,” wearing a dress by beloved American designer Ralph Lauren.
In both 2011 and 2013, Swift wore J. Mendel creations. She opted for a pair of Christian Louboutin peep-toe pumps in 2011 and a pair of black satin Givenchy sandals in 2013.
In 2014, at her last Met Gala appearance, Swift wore a pale pink Oscar de la Renta gown that concealed her Christian Louboutin peep-toe pumps.
