Beyoncé brought her Emmy-nominated visual album to the stage on Sunday night during the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards in New York. In what’s sure to go down as one of the most memorable VMA performances of all time, the singer performed a selection of songs off her sixth studio album, “Lemonade.”
Wearing Christian Louboutin thigh-high boots and a lace bodysuit, Beyoncé rocked the stage for nearly 10 minutes. Top hits included “Formation,” “Sorry,” “Hold Up” and “Pray You Catch Me.”
Since her VMA debut in 2000, Beyoncé has provided years of onstage and red-carpet moments. Remember the time she took home the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award in 2014 and performed a 16-minute medley of her self-titled fifth studio album?
Earlier in the evening, Beyoncé walked the red carpet with daughter Blue Ivy by her side. While Beyoncé dressed in a gown by Maison Francesco Scognamiglio, her daughter rocked a tulle dress and Giuseppe Zanotti Dolly sneakers.

Beyoncé is currently on her Formation World Tour. With six costume changes throughout her show, stylist Marni Senofante told Footwear News that she is wearing styles from Gucci, Roberto Cavalli, Olivier Rousteing, Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy, Ulyana Sergeenko and DSquared2.
She also pairs the outfits with customized footwear including Christian Louboutin ankle booties and Balmain boots. “Because she dances so much in every set, the shoes have to have enough ankle support and height — just a couple inches makes everyone look better, and it’s easier to dance in than a flat,” Senofonte said, noting that Beyoncé’s stage shoes are typically 2.5 to 3 inches tall.
Beyoncé was nominated for 11 awards at the 2016 MTV VMAs. She took home the top honor of the night for Video of the Year, along with Best Female Video and Best Breakthrough Long Form Video.
