Level Shoe District Partners With Three Labels On Exclusive Espadrilles

The Dubai footwear emporium is teaming up with three different labels for a new capsule of espadrilles, launching this month. Ready-to-wear brands Mary Katrantzou, All Things Mochi (a local label from U.A.E.) and South Parade (a Miami streetwear mark) were each commissioned to splash signature prints and motifs on the seaside staple.

For Katrantzou, who is known for her bold use of material and innovative digital patterns, inspirations were pulled from her resort and spring ’16 collections, which included rainbows and 18th century illustrations of flower seed packets, plus cosmology and the study of the universe. The results are some very eye-catching slip-ons that would stand out on the beach and beyond. It is the London-based designer’s  first time collaborating with a retailer on footwear.

“The espadrille is the iconic summer shoe, so it’s very fitting to be incorporating our prints into our first exclusive footwear range with Level Shoes,” said Katrantzou in a statement. “It was a fun project for the team and I to work on, and I hope our customers will enjoy wearing them as they make summer memories around the globe.”

All of the espadrilles were produced in Spain in the same factory. Katrantzou’s versions will retail for 1,500 AED (or $422 USD at current exchange rates), while All Things Mochi is 1,000 AED ($272 USD) and South Parade will ring in at 550 AED (or $150 USD.)
