Converse Releases 1970s Punk Rock Sneaker Collection

Another day, another sneaker release. Converse has announced the release of its new Punk Rock sneaker pack, which celebrates the 40th anniversary of the 1970s punk music scene. The new pack follows Converse’s recent releases such as the Sex Pistols and Valentine’s Day collections.

The new punk collection will be available on February 12 in Converse stores and Converse.com, as well as at select specialty retailers.

The offering, which will range from $120 to $130, includes a reimagining of the classic Chuck Taylor All Star ’70 high-top. Its construction is flipped from front to back here, with waxed lacing on the heel instead of the tongue.

The Chuck Taylor All Star CVO is also reworked in a mohair fabric and pink sockliner, as well as molded rubber foxing that references the subculture’s often-favored chunky creeper soles.

A separate women’s-only punk pack also includes Chuck Taylor high-top embellished with gold studs. They will be available in a black or white leather.
