The Mood: Fantasy escapism and travel wear inspired by French writer Anne-France Dautheville, who was known for her traveling escapades in the 1970s on a Moto-Guzzi 750 motorcycle. (Can it get any cooler?) The clothes juxtaposed the boyish against the feminine with luxe camel capes, leather moto suits and sheer, ruffled dresses making an appearance. And those ascots!

The Shoes: If we’re imagining the Chloé girl on a motorcycle this season, the shoes were certainly appropriate. Modified biker boots were cut mid-calf and had low, wooden-block heels. They were done in a variety of treatments, from brown and black leather to embossed snakeskin in a sumptuous burgundy or yellowed beige. Certain styles had contrast stitching and asymmetrical zippers on the side.

The Review: Bohemian, ethereal and dreamy: A Chloé collection rarely strays from its brand identity, but it was fun to see the label go more mensy this season. Fashion is indeed in a nostalgic state of mind — virtually every designer references the 1970s — but creative director Clare Waight Keller brought it very much into the now.
