Let the collaborations begin. Christian Louboutin and E. Tautz have teamed up on runway shoes for spring ’17, shown during London Collections Men.
The latest E. Tautz collection was inspired by the work of Dutch photographer Hans van der Meer, who specialized in football imagery. The shoes mimicked the theme by taking on a sportswear feel. Fisherman sandal silhouettes were reworked with a closed toe and T-bar ankle strap, finished in canvas with rubber toe caps.
Certain styles, which came in varsity colorways like navy and white, had striped motifs reminiscent of jersey stripes. Louboutin’s signature red soles finished it off. Meanwhile, the ready-to-wear choices included preppy accents such as pleated shorts, striped button-ups and loose suit tailoring.
