When all else fails, look up. Footwear designers looked to sky for fall ’16 inspiration, applying starry prints and electrifying finishes onto men’s sneakers.
Lightning bolts made an appearance on a number of designer sneaker styles. Fendi used a single electric bolt on its low-top runners. For her debut men’s collection, Laurence Dacade used a metallic lighting bolt on her color-blocked high-top.

Certain brands offer star motifs every season. Saint Laurent updated its star-printed sneaker with a black leather-high top, with stars stitched in an all-over treatment. Golden Goose also offered its signature star logo in a metallic gray suede.
Christian Louboutin went for a more abstract take on the trend. He used crystal embellishments on a velour and patent high-top, arranging them in a Bing Bang-style formation. Talk about starting the season with a bang.
