Call it the power of ‘less is more.’ Gianvito Rossi‘s fall ’16 men’s and women’s collection features the designer’s signature minimalism and luxe fabrications.
The stiletto sandal made up a large portion of the collection this season. The style was done in a few different interpretations, from a lace-up suede sandal with mesh panelling to a metallic gold. The color scheme was overall neutral, save for a pop of burgundy or orange fur done as an ankle detail.
Wrap-tying was also done on a suede sandal, or as leather straps on a biker boot. Velvet appeared via slide sandals and retro chunky platforms.
On the men’s front, black and white leather sneakers were offered in both a low- and high-top silhouette. A slip-on style was also done in black pebbled leather.
Next up, the designer gave Footwear News a sneak peek of his main fall ’16 collection. Rossi unveiled a sketch of his strappy Carlyle sandal — a “very sophisticated and naked sandal,” he said of the style.

“As in every season, we focus on the idea of a modern woman,” Rossi said. “We try to find the perfect balance between proportion, shape and line. There are new colours like praline pink and Texas brown to ensure freshness and wearability.”
