Giuseppe Zanotti Spring ’17: More Elegance, Less Rock ‘n’ Roll

Giuseppe Zanotti — best known for his rock ‘n’ roll aesthetic — took a new, somewhat surprising direction for spring 2017.

Inspired by the colors of Botticelli paintings, the designer incorporated muted shades, pastels and natural colors across his feminine, romantic collection. Heels heights were diverse — the sky-high stilettos were still there, but Zanotti added some standout block heels and flatforms to the mix this season.

Crystals were key for Zanotti, and embellished some of his most iconic styles, including the snake sandal, which previously featured a gold accent. Painted flower appliqués were also incorporated on several looks, adding more romantic flavor.

The designer also offered up a sneak peek of his collaboration with pop star Zayn Malik. The collection hits stores in January, but here’s your first look.

Zanotti also recently announced another collaboration with Jennifer Lopez and was seen at Milan Fashion Week on Thursday with Serena Williams and Ciara, both fans of the designer.
