First Look At Inga Fall 2016 At Paris Fashion Week

Model-turned-designer Inga Savits, who launched her namesake collection in 2012, wanted to try something different for fall ’16.

The designer drew inspiration from artist Nicolas de Staël, an artist who she has always admired. “I had been looking at his amazing painting, “Portrait d’Anne” and I found an incredible energy in the movement and inspiration of colors. So I let my mind drift and began to think about who would be my ‘Anne’ today,” Savits said.

Her collection is chocked full of interesting color and print pairings that play up textures. For example, she incorporated her favorite leopard print as a marking printed on snakeskin. Savits also used graphic laser work as her embroidery on ankle booties.

“I wanted to do something a little out of my comfort zone,” she said at Premiere Classe on Friday.

In the meantime, Savits — who has been expanding her collection to key boutiques in Europe, including Montaigne Market in Paris — also recently bowed a new e-commerce site.

While she doesn’t yet have retail distribution in the U.S. market, she found interest online among consumers in both New York and Los Angeles.
