Manolo Blahnik Partners With Farfetch For E-Commerce Push

Manolo Blahnik, who recently opened a high-profile shop in London’s Burlington Arcade, is making a major move online today.

The luxury designer has partnered with Farfetch Black & White to launch Manoloblahnik.com, Blahnik’s first e-commerce site. Farfetch, a leading luxury e-tailer, launched its Black & White service last fall as a way to work directly with brands.

“Farfetch has rapidly grown to become one of the leading companies in the global luxury landscape. This separate business unit is unique in that it gives brands the solution for delivering omnichannel e-commerce on a global level,” said José Neves, CEO and founder of Farfetch in a statement. Blahnik is Farfetch’s first partner in the new venture.

Kristina Blahnik, managing director of Manolo Blahnik, said that the company doesn’t view the new site as a commercial opportunity. Rather, the site will be a strong way to communicate “the depth of Manolo’s creativity for the first time in the digital realm.”

It’s been a big year for Mr. Blahnik. In addition to opening the new London store, he recently announced a denim-centric partnership with Rihanna that will debut in May.
