To the point: It not only describes the sharp-toed shoes at Marni for spring ’17 but also the tightly edited collection.
Footwear came in exactly 2.5 forms. First, a glove leather (in either black or white) pointed flat cut off just before the ankle, completely fuss-free. Second, an elevated triangular contrast block heel version. Some of these clean shoes had ankle straps and one or two a smattering of tonal beading, but that’s about as superfluous as things got.

The collection was an exercise in excess and restraint, with billowing layers and Fortuny-style pleating (plus some questionable ballooning belt bags) complemented by the minimalist shoes.
