Marc Jacobs has been putting famous faces in his ad campaigns for years. Next up: Rapper Missy Elliott, who appears in the designer’s fall ’16 ad campaign, which was unveiled this week.
Elliott wears a dress with sequin embellishment, a Canada Goose puffer jacket with feather detail that models wore in the designer’s fall ’16 show in February, and a pair of the crazy-high platform boots also from the show.
Shot by photographer David Sims, the campaign also includes actress Sissy Spacek, musician Genesis P-Orridge and modeling duo John and Carlos, as well as a group of female models.
Jacobs said in a statement on his website that he became an Elliott fan the moment he heard her song “The Rain” in 1997 and has been a favorite of Jacobs and his design team ever since.

“I am in continued awe of Missy’s ability to push the boundaries of the style of music both to the eye and to the ear,” Jacobs said. “It was a dream of mine to work with her.”
During Jacobs’ fall ’16 runway show, Lady Gaga made a surprise appearance and walked with models that included Kendall Jenner.
Also this week, Dior Homme unveiled images of rapper A$AP Rocky in its fall ’16 campaign.
