Luxury parka brand Mr & Mrs Italy is getting into the footwear game. The label will launch its first women’s shoe collection at Barneys New York later this month — an offering that, much like its coats, is heavy on the fur.
Pricing for the new women’s shoes ranges from $430 to $700, and all styles are made in Italy. The collection includes a variety of boots, from hikers to below-the knee silhouettes, in furs such as rabbit, fox, mongolian lamb or shearling.
“For our first footwear line, we wanted to create something that can complete and ‘make’ an outfit in the same ways that our parkas do,” said the brand’s creative director, Geraldina Bassani Antivari. “We are always striving to do something new with the furs, like patchwork or a multicolored lining.”
Antivari is no stranger to the footwear scene. She began her career working for Paris-based women’s brand Aperlai and also worked with Piombo on its men’s line. “Given my background in shoe design, this is a very exciting time for me,” she said.

While Mr & Mrs Italy has been worn by celebrities such as Rihanna, Beyoncé and Karlie Kloss, the designer hopes to further amp up the brand’s U.S. presence and customer base. She also hopes to open Mr & Mrs Italy’s first U.S. store later this year.
