Paul Andrew Resort 2017 Women’s Shoe Collection

Every season, Paul Andrew looks to a cultural hotbed for inspiration. For fall ’16, he dreamed of Istanbul. And for this season, the designer took cues from Scandinavia, specifically referencing the minimal, clean lines found in its furniture design.

Seasonal standouts included his new half-cylinder heel construction, which had a wood-grain finish but was actually made of plastic (the shoe is much lighter as a result). The heel was done on rounded toe Lita pumps in cowhide or python, or leather ankle-strap sandals in neutral shades.

Meanwhile, shearling lamb accents were added onto the midsoles of platform sandals, or as an all-over treatment on simple pumps — like a pillow for your feet.

Andrew’s Lina slide sandals were given a fresh feel with a rounded wood-finish kitten heel, which ever so slightly gives the foot some lift and support. Another update was his pointed Paavo wedges with intricate embroidery.

His evening offering continued with low Zenadia pumps with crystal-ball heels. His mesh booties with floral embroidery, a successful style within the bridal market, was offered in Scandinavian browns and grays.
