How Santoni’s Spring 2017 Shoes Look Like a Moroccan Bazaar

Taking inspiration from the bazaar is nothing new for designers. Santoni approached the theme with fresh eyes (not to mention strong art direction) for the spring ’17 women’s collection at Milan Fashion Week.

A smoky-rose mirror hall with matching scaffolding created a modernized maze with shoes sectioned together like Moroccan stalls. Jangly silver beading hung as kilter tasseling from sandals and babouche mules. They were the label’s most haggle-worthy styles.

Other Milan Fashion Week highlights included woven platforms sandals and latticework oxfords, an ornate update on traditional brouging.
