Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day With Green (But Not Gaudy) Shoes

Love thematic dressing? You’re in luck. With St. Patrick’s Day festivities approaching on March 17, it’s time to bust out your best green shoes.

But being on-theme doesn’t have to mean a costume. There’s a number of chic, refined footwear on the market that means you can partake in — but not be a victim to — the Irish holiday.

It just so happens that one of the “it” colors of the season is green — think hues like emerald and hunter green. Gucci was undoubtedly the main source the trend, using it as a base for its signature floral prints. No. 21’s satin bow mule is a luxe take on the shade, meaning you can be both festive and fabulous.

Brands like Gianvito Rossi and Derek Lam both used dark hunter greens in their footwear collections for spring — a barely-there option that’s perfect for the bah-humbug type.

If you plan on actually partaking in St. Patrick’s Day, you’ll likely need a comfortable flat to navigate the pub scene. Styles like Nicholas Kirkwood’s pointy flat, or Nike’s Roshe running sneaker, will keep you going all day (and night) long.
