The Top Six Shoe Trends From Men’s Fashion Month Spring 2017

An adventurous spirit ran wild on the spring ’17 men’s runways in London, Florence, Milan and Paris. This season, designers seemed to embrace a more casual message, with sandals and dress shoes reworked into less-sleek, more-fun finishes. In Milan, socks and sandals even seemed to be all the rage.

Still, there were attempts at dressing guys up, too. Loafers and sneakers were heightened with luxe materials (white low-top courts were still everywhere this season, but suede low-tops dominated).

From snazzy loafers to outdoorsy sandals, read on for more trends from the season.

Talk about adding a spring to your step. Oxford and derby laceups had a more casual feel with soles that had contrasting color pops.

No basics allowed here. Classic loafers were amped up with snazzy finishes such as embellishment, studding or sequins.

The summer pool slide was given a luxurious twist in materials such as leather or printed ponyhair. They are meant to be worn with ease — just don’t get them wet.

Boxer boot silhouettes took on more runway-ready finishes, whether laced up high or amplified with thick lug and wooden soles.

Sneakers get sophisticated. The essential low-top court kick was further refined in a neutral color palette and supple suedes or leathers.
